A Reading - Rantideb
Why: among the Rudras, he is Shankara, among goblins and demons, the lord of wealth, among the elements, fire, among mountains, Meru, continuing to name standout examples across an increasingly wide range of categories.
In life: this exercise, repeated across so many categories, gradually builds a specific habit of mind, always looking past the average toward what's most essential or excellent within any given category.
Teaching: keep practicing this same habit deliberately in your own daily observations, in each new category you encounter, briefly ask what the most essential or excellent example within it actually is.
