Translator:
Know Me, O Arjuna, as the eternal seed of all beings; I am the intelligence of the intelligent, and the splendour of the splendid objects.

Why: know Krishna as the eternal seed of all beings, the intelligence of the intelligent, the splendor of the splendid, again locating him as the essential quality rather than a separate, competing thing.
In life: real intelligence and real impressiveness both have a recognizable quality underneath them that's different from just performing those traits convincingly.
Teaching: distinguish, in yourself and others, between genuinely possessing a quality like intelligence or impressiveness and merely performing its outward signals convincingly.

Who is the seed for Thee? the Lord would have replied? There is no seed for Me. There is no cause for Me. I am the source of everything. I am the causeless Cause. I am the primeval Being.
