Sanskrit to English Translation

Translator:
Among weapons, I am the thunderbolt; among cows, I am the wish-fulfilling cow called Kamadhenu; I am the progenitor, the god of love; among serpents, I am Vasuki.

A Reading - Rantideb

Why: among weapons, he is the thunderbolt, among cows, the wish-fulfilling cow, among causes of procreation, he is love, among serpents, Vasuki, again ranging widely, this time into instruments, sustenance, and desire itself.

In life: naming desire itself, in its generative, non-harmful form, as one of these essential manifestations is notable, it again distinguishes ordinary desire from desire that violates deeper values.

Teaching: revisit your own relationship to desire with this distinction in mind, not all desire is suspect, some of it, aligned with genuine generativity and care, is treated here as entirely legitimate and even essential.
